Funmi, My Beloved

“I first met Funmi while dating my now husband, Andriy Nagay, in 2008! They were both in the accounting program at UCA…I also graduated from UCA but from the other side of the campus in the art program!

“Funmi was at our wedding helping us celebrate life and love! We had many nights of Stellas and calamari after the busyness of EY life slowed down! I was sad when he moved away- feeling a loss of a close friend…but now I see how many other lives have been blessed by his love and friendship!

“Life took us in different directions and we lost close contact until my diagnosis in November of 2016! It was then that we caught up and found out about his battling and at the time, remission! Funmi was the only person that put life on hold to come see me! He made it a priority! Perhaps it was because he knew what I was about to face! But it shows his heart! He encouraged me. He made time for me! He loved on our kids and became again an extension of our family!”

“Washington DC in 2017 after my treatments!” – Sandy Nagay

“There is something so precious and innocent about the way Funmi loved! He was always Special to me even if I couldn’t find the exact words to describe it! He made an imprint on all our lives! He is forever tattooed on my heart! He lives on forever within all of us!

We love you dearly,

The Nagay Family

Andriy, Sandi, Liam, Grace & Isaiah”
